Usher’s son, Usher Raymond V, is recovering after his near death drowning scare. Today, Usher thanked the heroes who saved him, while his ex-wife sues for custody following the tragic pool accident.
R&B artist Usher publicly thanked the two men who saved his son's life this week, after the child nearly drowned. One of the heroes responded by refusing money but is requesting a song. Meanwhile, the singer's ex-wife is still seeking emergency custody of their children.
Usher owes Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews his life. The two men valiantly rushed to the aid of his son Usher Raymond V, saving the young boy from drowning.
The five-year-old got his arm stuck in a pool drain on Tuesday. His aunt and a maid tried desperately to free him but was unsuccessful.
Enter our heroes--sound technician Eugene Stachurski, and Ben Crews, an audio-video engineer. The two managed to free Raymond V and perform life saving CPR on him.
Usher has since released a public statement expressing his gratitude:
"I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."
TMZ is reporting that Crews isn't expecting any money for his heroic actions, however, his mother has allegedly requested that Usher reward her son with a song.
Leigh Crews, reportedly told TMZ that her son Ben is getting married and pleaded to the pop star to "drop a beat at [her] son's wedding."
No word on whether Usher will be the guest of honor at Crews' wedding or not. The artist currently has his hands full.
Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster is filing for an emergency custody hearing of their children following their son's near death experience on Tuesday.
In her custody filing, Foster makes the claim that her ex-husband is an absentee father, saying that he:
"...continues to excessively travel, utilizes third-party caregivers to supervise the minor children rather than personally exercising parenting time and providing supervision for the minor children and is not capable of providing daily care-giving and supervision for the minor children of the parties as petitioner is preparing to film a movie in Panama and has ongoing commitments that require his presence in Los Angeles, New York and various other cities for The Voice and his upcoming album."
The two also share another son, four-year-old Naviyd Ely. Foster tragically lost her older son 11-year-old Kile Glover who was killed in Jet Ski accident last year.
