Usher’s Son Raymond V Nearly Dies, Mom Sues for Custody After Near Death Pool Drowning Accident Tragedy [UPDATE]

Usher’s ex-wife is seeking custody of their five-year-son, who was rushed to the ICU Tuesday morning where he almost died, after almost drowning. His son, Raymond V, was saved from the near death accident by a local hero.

TMZ is reporting that R&B artist Usher's ex wife Tameka Foster is filing for custody of their son Raymond V following Tuesday's near death scare.

The almost fatal accident occurred after the boy, who was swimming in a pool, dove underwater to retrieve a toy lodged in the pools drain. Little Raymond V's arm then got caught in the drain.

Raymond V's Aunt, who was in the pool at time, tried unsuccessfully to free the child's arm. A maid then jumped into the pool and attempted to rescue Raymond V to no avail.

The boy was finally freed after two workmen came from inside the house and managed to save him.

Usher who wasn't home at the time reportedly arrived as his namesake was undergoing life saving CPR. The singer rode alongside his son in the ambulance to an Atlanta hospital.

Fortunately, doctors expect a full recovery thanks to the heroic actions of those on the scene. The hero has been reportedly identified by CNN as Eugene Stachurski, a sound tech.

Usher and Foster were both at their son's bedside. The unfortunate family reunion didn't last long.

Foster is blaming Usher for the accident, apparently seeking custody of their children--claiming an unsafe environment.

While Tuesday's mishap was likely just a freak accident, Foster's reaction is understandable.

The woman is no stranger to tragedy. Last year she lost her 11-year-old son Kile Glover to a deadly Jet Ski accident. Thankfully, Foster and family were spared another loss.

Usher and Foster also share another son, four-year-old Naviyd Ely.
