Chris Brown claims he is quitting music after his new album. The singer is tired of the negative media coverage he received after beating then-girlfriend Rihanna. He goes on to claim that he will not be releasing new songs after the release of X.
Brown, the often controversial (and unrepentant) R&B singer, made his announcement via Twitter, the popular networking site. This seems to be his preferred means of communication, especially for all legal matters. He told his followers:
“Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album.” He followed that up with the statement, “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it!”
The event he was referencing was likely the time he bashed his girlfriend’s face in. Of course, Brown has made so many terrible decisions, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly which one it could be.
Earlier in the year, Brown was in trouble for another type of hit and run. This time it involved a car and not a person. He took to the defense then, too, on Twitter:
"It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous. I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene. She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures. My lawyers will be contacting you. I will not stand for this bullying and yellow journalism!"
