Former President George Walker Bush underwent minor heart surgery Tuesday morning. Bush had a stent placed to open up a blockage in his arteries.
During his annual physical examination on Monday, doctors discovered that former president had a blockage in his heart. A stent was surgically placed Tuesday morning to increase blood flow.
The routine surgery went as planned said the president's spokesman Freddy Ford:
“President Bush is in high spirits, eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday.”
The 67-year-old is known for being highly physically active, often engaging in vigorous runs and bike rides. According to Ford the fit Prez presented no alarming outward symptoms prior to his exam:
“He had a stress test as part of his annual physical,” Ford said. “During the stress test there were EKG changes, which prompted a CT angiogram that confirmed the blockage.”
W isn't planning on letting this slow him down. He is hosting a golf tournament for Wounded Warriors in September. Despite his la
test set back the ex P.O.T.U.S has no intention on canceling.
Ford added:
"He is grateful to the skilled medical professionals who have cared for him, He thanks his family, friends and fellow citizens for their prayers and well wishes. And he encourages us all to get our regular check-ups."
Words we should all take to heart.
