Katey Sagal Talks ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 6 Controversy and Spoilers, New Album Release Date

Katey Sagal, star of Sons of Anarchy, discussed Season 6 of the hit TV Show. In addition to releasing a few minor spoilers, the actress also discussed her new album release date, while the creator of the series defended recent choices which have created a controversy.

Sagal, who portrays Gemma Teller Morrow on SOA, recently gave an interview where she dished about the upcoming season. Sagal, herself, may not know all of the details, as the show has only filmed six of the upcoming episodes. Still, she spilled the beans on her character’s current position:

“She starts out in a pretty good place. That’s all I really know. We’ve only done six. So I really don’t know what’s going to happen. At the beginning of the season she has her new boyfriend. She’s conflicted, but resigned, about what’s going on with Clay. She’s really done with that situation… She’s been with her grandchildren a lot. Things have settled. She’s in a good place.”

The show, which is no stranger to controversy, will be taking on some pretty heavy issues this year. The Epoch Times reports that:

“In the upcoming season, Sons of Anarchy will depict a school shooting at the hands of a young boy, which according to critics who have seen it, say it’s particularly disturbing by even the show’s standards. ‘Even by Sons Of Anarchy standards, [this] isn’t going to sit well with a lot of people,’ the creator said.”

Kurt Sutter, creator of the series, offered up a warning of his own, telling TV Line:

“The scene is a catalyst for the third act of this morality play we’re doing. I know obviously that it would be somewhat controversial, but I feel like as much as I wouldn’t do something because it was controversial, I’m also not going to do something because it is.”

That’s not the only big announcement. Katey Sagal also has some new jams coming out, telling fans “I’m actually making another record. I make them, like, one every 10 years, I put them out on my website. I sing on the soundtrack for Sons of Anarchy; every season I’ll sing a song.”
