Strumming a twelve-string and, half-surprisingly, accompanied by a band of four behind him, The Tallest Man on Earth took to Conan on May 20 to perform the track "Sagres" off his latest LP, Dark Bird is Home.
Currently on tour, the Swedish crooner, Kristian Matsson, will be touring the globe and hitting every festival you can think of this summer, including Newport Folk Festival and more (but not, unfortunately, the late-night circuit).
A shame indeed, Matsson brought to life his new sound, dubbed with percussion, strings, low-end and more. If you're familiar with the guitar-playing phenom, then you're aware that his style, until recently, remained singular, strictly revolving around his guitar and voice.
Though he might have included a band of thieves in the background, Kristian's voice still delivers, even if a viewership has been deflated by many of these late-night talk shows in response to David Letterman's final show (Conan, selfishly enough, promoting audiences to change the channel too).
For now, The Tallest Man is scheduled for two shows in New York City and will be circling the globe for months to come. The latest disc is available on every digital music rack and is worth the nominal fee of purchase.
