July 26 was as big day for all the Little Monsters out there. Gaga officially released the deets of her new single, “Applause” and provided fans with the artwork from the upcoming single.
The National Post took on the cover and offered insight into the brain of Gaga:
“The artsy tone of the Applause cover image fits into Gaga’s canon of work which can be considered performance art in the form of fashion and popular music. The most obvious examples include her meat dress at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and her arrival at the 2011 Grammy Awards in an egg. Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, often writes about the nature of celebrity and fame, most notably with her 2008 debut The Fame and 2009 EP The Fame Monster. In 2011, she told The Guardian, ‘When I was really young, I was fascinated by performance artists.’”
Lady Gaga loves to announce her projects via social media and her upcoming album is no different. The popstar phenom broke the news of her newest projects first via Facebook, telling fans about her new app:
