Viz Media Announces New 'Naruto' Manga for US, Creator Comes to NY Comic-Con 2015

Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto will make his first appearance outside of Japan at the New York Comic-Con set for October 8-11. The creator of one of the most successful manga titles ever will take part in two panels and multiple autograph sessions. His panels will take place on Thursday, October 8 and Saturday, October 10 during New York Comic Con. He will host autograph sessions at Kinokuniya Bookstore and Barnes & Noble as part of New York Super Week. In conjunction with Masashi Kishimoto’s appearance at the Comic-Con, Viz Media the North American licenser of the title, has announced that it will publish several not to be missed titles.

Beginning in October, Viz will release the Naruto series finale volume 72. It will be available in both print and digitally. Following that, Viz will next release Uzumaki Naruto: Illustrations in November, which will focus on the art of the series and the characters.

November will see the first of three Naruto novels, the first being Naruto: Kakashi’s Story. It will feature original artwork from Kishimoto, as will the next two Naruto: Shikamaru’s Story and Naruto: Sakura’s Story.

“Masashi Kishimoto and his seminal series forever changed the manga landscape, and Naruto has become one of the world’s most successful entertainment properties, with millions of passionate international fans,” says Andy Nakatani, Editor in Chief, Weekly Shonen Jump. “We’re very proud to welcome him for his first ever professional appearance in North America at the 2015 New York Comic-Con, an event that will coincide with the eagerly anticipated release of the final volume of the manga series.”
