Simon Cowell, the father of American Idol, will soon be a new dad. The TV judge is guilty of cheating with his best friend’s wife, socialite Lauren Silverman, who is now pregnant. We’ve got the latest update on this scandal.
Cowell, who is now 53, appears to be dating the current wife of good friend Andrew Silverman. Silverman is a millionaire who made major bucks in the real estate market and is still married to Lauren Silverman.
A source has confirmed to US Weekly that the pair is quite an item, telling the gossip magazine that:
"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while. As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."
That’s not all the source claimed either, revealing that Lauren is pregnant with Simon’s baby...adding that she is ten weeks pregnant.
It’s no secret that Mrs. Silverman is much younger than Cowell. The 36-year-old is 17 years the music critic’s junior and it shows.
That’s not the only secret either. Mr. Cowell has gone on the record as not wanting children in the past. In fact, just last year, he told the press that:
“I do really, really like kids, because I can talk to them and listen to them. The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids. I've always dedicated all my life to work, and at 52, I've probably missed the opportunity."
