Tonight, The Simpsons is all new with the Season 26 finale episode tonight. Check the report below for a look at tonight’s new episode as well an update on whether or not, Mr. Burns voice actor, Harry Shearer will return next year or not.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s Season 26 finale of The Simpsons, titled “Mathlete's Feat,” reads:
“In the Season 26 finale, Springfield Elementary modernizes but suffers a technical meltdown, and Lisa must ride to the rescue. Meanwhile, the mathletes wonder if their number is up after Groundskeeper Willie is named the new coach.”
Earlier in the week it was revealed that Skinner and Mr. Burns voice actor, Harry Shearer was planning on leaving the show, when he tweeted:
Showrunner Al Jean also spoke about Shearer returning, telling Entertainment Weekly:
“Well, we’re still hoping he might come back. Nothing’s done ‘til it’s done. He tweeted that it was over, but… There’s an offer that the rest of the cast accepted, and Harry has not accepted it. It’s not going to change, because the rest of the cast took it. So we’re hoping he does. If he doesn’t within a certain period of time, we would have to recast--but we haven’t started.”
