We’re back again with another Lindsay Lohan mental health update. A judge has ordered the star to attend more rehab or go back to jail. Lilo’s ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, has remained silent on the decision.
Lindsay Lohan has been released from her latest stay in rehab but she is still in treatment. In addition to her voluntary agreeing to spend a few days with a sober coach, a judge has ordered over a year of outpatient therapy.
Lohan may have completed her court ordered 90-day treatment on Tuesday, but she isn't exactly free. TMZ reported that doctors at the Cliffside Malibu Treatment Facility felt strongly that the star needs more help. So much so, that Cliffside CEO Richard Taite petitioned the court to mandate her additional therapy.
Taite requested that Lindsay be ordered to undergo three, hour-long sessions each week for 16 months. The petition also added:
"If these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a setup for almost certain failure."
The judge agreed with Taite and ruled as such.
Hopefully for Lindsay's sake, the three-hour-a-week commitment won't put a damper on her soon to be busy schedule, which includes a tell-all interview with Oprah and an eight part reality show on Winfrey's OWN network.
That's just the beginning. The 29-year-old's latest film, written by Bret Easton Ellis, comes out via video on demand and iTunes this Friday.
Lohan will fill in for Chelsea Handler on August 5 as guest host of her late night talk show Chelsea Lately on E!
