Two cars crashed into the Christian Academy Child Care in Kansas City, Missouri. The daycare center was rocked by injuries and several children were hospitalized.
While the daycare was filled with children, only three of them were injured. It appears that one adult has sustained injuries as well.
As the Christian Post wrote:
“The crash took place at 3600 block of East 27th Street, and according to KMBC, took place after two vehicles collided, sending one of the vehicles crashing through the front of the daycare.
The aftermath of the crash at the Christian Academy Child Day Care is shown in this screen shot.
According to Kansas City police Sgt. Marisa Barnes, police received emergency calls reporting the crash at 12.56 p.m. local time (1.56 p.m. ET).”
Danny Rottert, the Kansas City communication director, also commented to CNN:
“Two vehicles ran into the building. It involved an SUV and a silver Car. Serious injuries but not life threatening, taken to a hospital. All children have been accounted for at this point. We’ve got firefighters right now who are trying to removed the cars from the front of the building. Once we have them removed we will do a final check of the building. We don’t know ages.
We are not sure what happened with the cars. They had some sort of accident. The daycare is located near a freeway but it’s not clear how this happened. The fire chief has made it clear that we need to check after the cars are removed from the building.
We are very thankful that there are only three children with injuries and are very lucky.“
