The PGA tour has not been the same since Tiger Woods seemingly lost his magic. The world class golfer has had his on and off course issues for some time now, but this may be one of his toughest losses to handle. For Tiger Woods, his recent breakup with Lindsey Vonn and the anniversary of his father's death both occurring fairly close to each other, it is no wonder that the psyche of one of the world's greatest competitors has been reeling and causing personal and professional struggles.
Woods dated Vonn for over 3 years after his personal relationship struggles with former wife Elin Nordegren. He seemed to have settled down in his ways with Vonn, especially when both athletes were out of competition with injuries. The New York Daily News tells of the Facebook post from Vonn about the relationship problems the star competitors faced once healthy and back to action -- "incredibly hectic lives."
The timing of the breakup couldn't have had been worse for Woods. He lost his father 9 years ago, and the anniversary is always tough on the grateful son who was taught the game of golf from his dad. Woods gave his sentiment to the New York Times:
'"May 3rd through the 5th is just brutal on me," Woods said, referring to the anniversary of his father's death, "and then with obviously what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it."'
Will Tiger be able to fully recover from the heartbreak occurred with the loss of Vonn? Will the newly single Woods be able to concentrate more on his golf play and be able to make cuts and be in contention more often? Does the memory of his father make him more determined to finish his PGA career on a high note? Let us know what you think.
