Amanda Bynes, who is virtually unrecognizable at this point, is having more mental health problems. Today, an update about her case has been released. Her mom is seeking power to control the star and her daughter, who may be addicted to plastic surgery. She is hoping to gain conservatorship before her daughter is released from the hospital.
A source close to Bynes spoke to the press, claiming that:
“Her parents are very worried about Amanda. The petition seems to give no indication Amanda is suffering from schizophrenia. It’s more inconclusive. The doctors need more time.”
Bynes, who has not spoken to her father for quite some time (until his visit to the mental institute), is still hospitalized. While the pair have not spoken, a source tells Radar Online that:
“Rick will be there for his daughter, no matter what. They just want her to get the help she needs, and recognize that it could be a long process. She’s their daughter, and they are committed to getting her better.”
Her current institutionalization is a result of Bynes starting a fire in a strangers driveway. CBS News spoke to residents of the neighborhood, where they gathered that:
“Amanda Bynes was forced to undergo a mental evaluation on Monday night, after the troubled starlet caused a commotion in a California residential neighborhood. Ventura County fire officials responded to a phone call at 8:38 p.m. about a disturbance in a Thousand Oaks, Calif., neighborhood involving Bynes, 27, whom authorities believe started a small fire at a stranger's residence.”
Scott Dettorre, Ventura County fire captain, spoke briefly with the press, telling them that:
"The fire was in a driveway of a single family dwelling. There wasn't anything in the report to indicate it was a large fire. We did respond with an engine company. When our engine arrived on scene, the fire was out.”
Scott wasn’t the only one spilling their guts. A neighbor within the community saw the whole thing. In an interview, Bruno Corsi (the neighbor) spilled his guts:
“It was a boom. Somebody asked me for a water hose, but I went with [a fire extinguisher]. At the first moment of the explosion, the flames were maybe 5 feet,” Corsi said through his thick Italian accent. “When I went over, it was less and less. The gas was burning off.”
