New Lady Gaga 2013 Album ‘ARTPOP’ Announcement, First Musical Performance Date Set [UPDATE]

Lady Gaga’s new 2013 album, ARTPOP, has fans in a total frenzy. Today, an announcement was made concerning her first musical performance. The date of August 25 has been set.

Gaga will be performing on the MTV Video Music Awards, just days after her first single is released for radio play. MTV will be honoring the star by playing her music videos in succession, prior to her appearance on the program, which begins at 9:00 p.m.

All of these revelations come weeks after Gaga shut down her Twitter account, which many outlets (including us) believed to be a promotional stunt. Turns out, we were right...because in the following weeks there was a flood of revelations concerning the little monster’s newest album.

The first and, most obvious, was the announcement of her official release date. While fans can pre-order the album in September, it will not be officially available for purchase until November 11, 2013.

A new and innovative app will come bundled with the music and is promising to revolutionize the way we listen/enjoy Gaga.

Second, there was a song entitled “Burqa” which first leaked on YouTube. It was claimed that this song was the first single from Gaga’s newest musical adventure, though her camp denied these allegations.

Earlier last week, we saw the most recent leak...this time in the form of a music video. The clip...which is somewhat disturbing (as we have come to expect no less)... features Gaga licking a stranger’s hand. It is reportedly for the first single off of ARTPOP but their is no confirmation from her camp.
