Things aren’t going great for liberal director Michael Moore. Turns out the mastermind between Bowling for Columbine is divorcing his wife Kathleen Glynn.
The Oscar-winning director of films such as Fahrenheit 9/11 and Roger and Me is calling it quits on his 21 years of marriage. Michael and his wife, Kathleen, are set to divorce.
As CBS News reports, their relationship has deteriorated over the years:
“Moore, 59, filed a divorce complaint June 17 in Michigan's Antrim County, where the couple has a lakefront home. It says their relationship has broken down and "there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved. Clerk of Court Sheryl Guy said Monday that Glynn, 55, has not filed a response. A final hearing is scheduled for Sept. 10.”
The couple married all the way back in 1991. The two exchanged vows back in Flint, Michigan...where Moore made his breakthrough documentary, Roger and Me.
Moore is known for his controversial films and statements. For example, Michael gave the following statement concerning his views on capitalism and Christianity:
If I were a capitalist I would not give my employees health insurance with no deductible, which I do, including dental, and paid pregnancy leave. That's not called capitalism, that's called being a Christian and someone who believes in democracy, so that everyone should get a fair slice of the pie.
Moore, who has always exhibited a populist attitude, adds that:
The wealthy have never liked to pay for the labor that enriches them. Ever since slavery was eliminated, they have been trying to keep it as close to slavery as they can without violating the slave laws.
