Princess Kate Middleton’s mom and sister, Carole and Pippa, missed the delivery of Catherine’s first child. The royal baby boy was welcomed into the world by just William, Kate and the hospital staff.
Initially, rumors were circulated which claimed that Kate’s mom, Carole, was spotted in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. This is, of course, where the most famous baby (and her grandson) was born. Turns out, the rumors were total rubbish, as OMG Yahoo reported:
“Despite rumours the grandmother-to-be had been spotted at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital where the baby boy arrived at 4:24pm on July 22, a spokesperson for the royal couple has confirmed neither her or Pippa were present when the Duchess gave birth, exclusively to EntertainmentWise.”
Apparently, Carole and Pippa were on standby to assist with the delivery, in the event that Prince William was not able to attend. As a search and rescue pilot, even someone with the honor of Prince can be ordered to leave immediately. Though, this would be highly unlikely as everyone in the free world is aware that the baby was coming.
After the birth of their first child, a son, the palace issued an official statement on behalf of the royals:
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall,Prince Harry & families have been told and are delighted. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight."
At the time of this article’s publishing, the royal couple was still safe and sound in the hospital.
