‘Transformers 5’ 2017 Release Date Announced After Shia LaBeouf Blasts Michael Bay?

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction was one of the most successful films of 2014, so it is no wonder that the Paramount is pushing for an expanded, Marvel style, universe complete with sequels and spin-offs. Transformers 5 is expected to be released in 2017, and Mark Wahlberg is expected to return to star. Many fans were wondering if the new expansion made room for Shia LaBeouf to return to the franchise. However, Shia recently and very publicly criticised the films, as well director Michael Bay, leaving many to assume that he is done with the series.

Last year, Shia LaBeouf opened up to MoviePilot.com about possibly returning to the franchise (via Inquisitr):

"It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan [Fox] could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know its not that i don't think about it… But no, I highly doubt I'll be back for another one. I'll do another Michael Bay film but not Transformers."

Recently, Shia LaBeouf has seemingly changed his tune about Michael Bay telling reporters at the Tribeca Film Festival (via Entertainment Weekly):

“Bumblebee never sounds real. It’s just a f***ing name/ When you work with certain directors who give over and do something that’s presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f***ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe.”
