‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Dev Talks DLC, Maps & Gameplay in Reddit Chat [X1] [PS4]

The world rejoiced last week when the new trailer for, the long awaited, Star Wars Battlefront reboot was announced. The new game, available for Microsoft Windows, The Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, will be released on November 17, 2015, and will serve as lead in to the new movie Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. A DLC content pack, Battle of Jakku, will be released on December 1, and will be free for all players who buy the game before December 8. However, this addition has some concerned that developer, EA subsidiary DICE, may be holding back content from the main game. Now a rep for DICE has opened up about the concerns in a Reddit chat, discussing the DLC, gameplay and number of maps.

Recently, a DICE developer, identified by IGN as Jesper Nielsen, took part in a Reddit chat about the new game, clearing up any DLC concerns:

"I cannot stress this enough; there will be more than 8 maps!. Also, the amount of content in the game has absolutely zero to do with DLC. I can say that with all honesty.”

Nielsen later double downed on that claim, adding:

"If you think there’s anything we’re not including in the game to save it for DLC, I can tell you you’re 100% wrong. In this project, I’ve never heard anyone say 'Let’s not do this for launch so we can do it as DLC instead'. Ever.”

Nielsen also went on to comment on the how the new game will compare to the old Battlefront titles:

" I think most people will find that it does expand on the strengths of the previous games, when it comes to core gameplay and what the feeling of a Battlefront game is. Just my two cents.”

He also addressed fans wanting to see gameplay footage, simply stating “ you'll see it soon enough”.
