Pregnant Kate Middleton Royal Baby Birth Dissed By Queen Elizabeth II’s Cousin, Margaret Rhodes

Kate Middleton, who is pregnant with her first baby, has the entire world’s attention. Well...maybe not the entire world. Margaret Rhodes, Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, isn’t so enamored with the royal birth.

Any day now, Kate Middleton should be delivering her very own prince or princess. As the due date approaches, the press is in baby frenzy...which might be the reason CNN’s Christine Amanpour was in disbelief.

She didn’t seem to understand Mrs. Rhode’s response when asking Margaret if she was excited about the new baby:

“Not terribly. Everybody has babies and it’s lovely. But I don’t get wildly excited about it.”

That is, perhaps, the most honest answer any of the royals has yet to give. Still, Amanpour didn’t seem satisfied with her answer, asking the 88-year-old cousin of the Queen if she realized the new baby would one day be king or queen. Rhodes was quick to quip, ““Yes, all right. I’m prepared to be excited.”

While Mrs. Rhodes may not be overwhelmed with the Royal Baby Watch, she did have kind words to offer Kate:

“What I have seen I think that she’s doing really very well. I think she’s done the job that she has been given to do, and beautifully. I think she’s got a way with her that’s going to be very appealing. And I think she won’t sort of vie for coverage, which perhaps Diana did a little bit.”

Do you think that Mrs. Rhodes disrespected the royal family or was she just being honest? Let us know what you think in the comment field below.
