Tina Turner recently married longtime love Erwin Bach, in Switzerland. Her official wedding ceremony is approaching, and it has the legendary vocalist singing a new song.
Tina Turner, the 73-year-old music legend, has finally married Erwin Bach. Mr. Bach is nearly twenty years younger than Turner, but you couldn’t tell that from looking at Tina.
The two exchanged their vows several days ago, along the shores of Lake Zurich in Switzerland, where Mr. Bach calls home.
Although they are officially wed, the big ceremony is coming this weekend. The Daily Mail has all of the dirt on the upcoming Buddhist ceremony:
“Around 120 guests, including David Bowie, Oprah Winfrey and Sade, are due to attend as Turner and Bach celebrate their marriage at their Kusnacht home. Turner has requested that all the guests wear white to the celebration, while she will be wearing a gown designed by Italian fashion giant Giorgio Armani. Clearly anticipating an enjoyable evening, it was also reported that Turner and Bach had already sent out letters to neighbours and local residents apologising in advance for any noise they might cause.”
After a terrible first marriage to Ike Turner, it seemed that Tina would never remarry. Seven years ago, the singer gave an interview to Oprah where she claimed:
“People often ask me why don’t I marry. I have love. I have a good life. I don’t need to interfere with that. For some people, marriage means ‘You’re mine now.’ That can be the beginning of the failure of a relationship. Psychologically, something happens when someone says, ‘You’re my husband or wife. You can’t do this or that.’ It’s about ownership. That freedom that two people loving each other and wanting to be together – and being able to leave if anything is wrong--is gone. Neither Erwin nor I feel the need to get married. We’ve been together for 18 years. What would marriage give me that I don’t already have? Marriage would be about pleasing the public. Why do I need to please the public if I’m already pleased?”
