Rachel Jeantel Interview: Discusses George Zimmerman Trial and Tom Joyner Scholarship, While Riots Occur [UPDATE]

Rachel Jeantel, who testified in the George Zimmerman trial, appears to have received some much needed good luck. Tom Joyner offered the young woman a full college scholarship on his morning show and in interviews. The announcement comes in the wake of some fairly high profile riots.

Rachel made headlines around the world for her testimony in the George Zimmerman trial, for honest answers and the way she carried herself. While the attorneys and judge didn’t seem to understand her, the rest of America did--especially Tom Joyner.

Mr. Joyner addressed the 19-year-old victim on his morning talk show, where he revealed:

"Rachel, here's my offer to you. If you want to graduate from high school and go to an HBCU (historically black college), even if it's not in Florida but especially Florida...If you want to do that, I want to help you do that."

Joyner seemed sincere when he offered the following to Rachel:

"I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT, and I will give you a full-ride scholarship to any HBCU you'd like."

After the announcement, Joyner appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan, Tuesday night. He confirmed his commitment to Rachel:

"We talked to her people today and it's going to take some work, first of all to get her a high school diploma, and get her ready for the SAT test, and then entered into college. But we are going to do that. She deserves a chance.”

Rachel also appeared on Piers Morgan, earlier in the week.
