The royal baby watch is in full swing as the (very) pregnant princess, Kate Middleton, has a due date that is soon approaching. Even Queen Elizabeth is ready for the delivery and the big gender reveal. She just hopes it comes soon, because she has a vacation to attend.
Queen Elizabeth II was making a public appearance today when she got asked a gotcha question. Which journalist had the audacity to question the royal monarch?
It was actually a little girl. The Queen was speaking in front of a group of children at Cumbria, in England, when a small child asked her if she would rather Kate's child be a boy or a girl. The Queen, in good humor, responded thusly:
"I don't think I mind. I'd very much like it to arrive--I'm going on holiday!"
So even the queen has grown impatient waiting for the new heir. She has now officially joined the ranks of the rest of the free world.
The due date of Kate Middleton's child was thought to be on July 13. That date, however, has come and gone, and we still have no new prince or princess.
Jeanne Adams, reporter at Celebrity Dirty Laundry, has a theory:
"Something's just off. I don't know what it is but everyone just seems way too cavalier about this royal baby. First Prince William spent the weekend playing polo with Prince Harry hours away from his pregnant wife and now we’re hearing that Princess Pippa skipped out all together and attended a wedding in Vienna. Pippa Middleton isn't one to miss out on the action especially when a major royal event is in the mix. So what’s the deal? Was Kate Middleton's due date really this past weekend or were we all given the shaft on the info?"
We happen to agree with Adams. Not only was Pippa partying down at a friend's wedding in Vienna, but even Kate was on the move. The young (and very pregnant) royal recently moved into her mother's home.
But, why would the lovely Kate Middleton leave her home in the Palace? According to official reports, conditions in the palace aren't as nice as you might think. The Christian Science Monitor reports:
"'It was just too warm in Nott Cott,' a source told us, referring to the Nottingham Cottage within the palace where Kate Middleton was staying. Fact: The Nottingham Cottage is a temporary home for the couple while their four-story, 20-room home at the estate is under construction."
