Glee star Cory Monteith's coroners report is in and it confirms a mixture of alcohol and heroin as the cause of death. Meanwhile, supermodel Kate Moss denies ever chasing the dragon or being anorexic.
The British Columbia Coroner's Office has confirmed that the 31-year-old Monteith's death was in fact an overdose, as many had suspected.
It's been no secret that the actor had a long struggle with drug use in the past. Monteith, himself, admitted to having abused drugs and alcohol since the age of 13.
The Glee star even entered into treatment earlier this year, leaving his character Finn Hudson absent from episodes of the FOX musical comedy.
Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver hotel over the weekend. The star was spotted partying with friends friday night but returned to his room alone. Authorities alleged early on that no foul play was involved. The coroner statement also confirmed this to be true, citing:
"There is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith's death was anything other than a most-tragic accident."
Cory's both on and off screen girlfriend Lea Michele has kept silent since her boyfriends tragic passing. Although the grieving Glee star did have representatives release the following statement on her behalf.
“Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
Oddly enough, thats not the only heroin related headline of the day. Kate Moss addressed long standing rumors of her supposed use of the opiate in a recent article in Allure magazine.
The supermodel who's signature look has been dubbed heroin-chic had this to say to Allure in answer to allegations of heroin abuse and anorexia:
"It was horrible, especially the anorexic thing, the heroin, I was like, 'Oh, it's ridiculous. I know I don't do heroin. Just because I wear a bit of black eyeliner that's smudged ...' But the anorexic thing was a lot more upsetting, to be held responsible for somebody's illness. I wasn't anorexic."
