Oprah Winfrey's OWN network will air the very first interview with Lindsay Lohan after she is released from rehab. The highly coveted interview will take place in August shortly after Lohan's completion of her 90-day, court ordered treatment. She also signed the actress to a reality show deal, set to air next year.
Lohan was ordered to rehab back in March after her 2012 arrest for reckless driving and providing false information to police.
Since then, the actress has had to switch facilities from the Betty Ford Center to Cliffside in Malibu because the star felt she wasn't receiving the help she needed. Her stint at Cliffside ends on July 31 despite doctors advising her to stay longer.
The exclusive interview with the troubled starlet is only the beginning of her relationship with Winfrey. The Oprah Winfrey Network will also air an eight episode documentary series in 2014, following the former Disney star as she tries to rebuild her life and career.
Lindsay isn't the only one in recovery. After ending her hugely successful talk show in 2011,the moguls startup TV station has had some trouble standing on it's "OWN."
More recently, the network has started to pick up in the ratings due to other high profile, next chapter interviews. The turnaround has the acclaimed host's sit-downs with Lance Armstrong, where the disgraced athlete admitted to doping, and a sensational tell all with singer Rihanna about her sometimes abusive relationship with Chris Brown, to thank. OWN is up 32 percent from it's first quarter.
The highly sought after interview and reality show are almost sure to bring more success for the struggling network. For those of us that can't wait to see more of Lindsay in the meantime, the 27-year old bares all in Bret Easton Ellis’ The Canyons. The film that features a nude Lohan opens in theaters August 2nd.
