George Zimmerman Verdict: Guilty or Innocent? Jurors Deliberate on Trayvon Martin Case

Soon a verdict will be reached in the George Zimmerman trial. Jurors are presently deliberating Zimmerman's fate in the tragic Trayvon Martin killing. Will he be found guilty or innocent.

Before the verdict is even read (or for that matter, reached), law enforcement officers in Orlando are issuing pleas and warnings to the citizens.

Don Eslinger, a Seminole County Sheriff, was featured in a commercial aimed to prevent violent protests in light of the jurors decision, whatever verdict they choose. He issued the following televised statement:

"There is no party in this case who wants to see any violence. We have an expectation upon this announcement that our community will continue to act peacefully."

The San Francisco Gate covered the dramatic closing testimony by the defense:

"During closing arguments, Zimmerman's lawyers put a concrete slab and two life-size cardboard cutouts in front of the jury box in one last attempt to convince the panel Zimmerman shot the unarmed black 17-year-old in self-defense while his head was being slammed against the pavement.

Attorney Mark O'Mara used the slab to make the point that it could serve as a weapon. He showed the cutouts of Zimmerman and Martin to demonstrate that the teenager was considerably taller. And he displayed a computer-animated depiction of the fight based on Zimmerman's account."

The prosecution chose a different method--to reveal all of the holes in Mr. Zimmerman's story...and consequently label him a liar. After each side deliberated, some of the jurors were in tears.

The six-member jury, all women, requested more time with the evidence. They are set to resume deliberations tomorrow morning.
