‘Spartacus’ Lucy Lawless and Janet Montgomery Talks ‘Salem’ Season 2 Spoilers

Considering the fact that virtually no one watched or heard about WGN TV show, Salem, the network is seems to now be doing its best to bring attention to the series in Season 2. In addition to the return of cast queen bee Janet Montgomery to the show based on the premise that Massachusetts really was infested with witches in the 17 century the producers have also added Spartacus nude model/actress Lucy Lawless to the lineup. According to the latest gossip news spoilers updates, the new plotlines for the show are often so dark and twisted that they even shock the actors playing in them

If WGN America's Salem failed to hit last season because the show was pulling its punches, that definitely shouldn't be a problem in 2015.

When asked in the April 6, issue of Star Magazine what was the biggest difference this year from last, Janet Montgomery didn't hesitate to answer -- pure horror:

"We're not holding back.

"We're going to be much darker and will be pushing a lot of boundaries.

"We're taking it back to the roots of magic, which will be very interesting because there's going to be a lot more spells."

Former warrior princess Lucy Lawless certainly saw her fair share of Hollywood gore on the set of Starz' Spartacus TV series as well as hearing her fair share of creepy Australian folklore, but nothing properly prepared Xena for her role as The Countess.

During a recent interview Hollywood Life, Lawless explained that she would sometimes have to pull herself together after being particularly creeped out by one of her scenes:

"It was super intense.

"I was raised on vampire stories with, like, people in basements on meat hooks and the draining board underneath, so this is really familiar to me.

"But even so, I did a scene which shocked the hell out of me and it's so demented.

"How could [the writers] dream this up?

"It's so wrong and so right, you know?!"

Be sure to catch the Season 2 premiere of Salem April 5, on WGN.
