It seems that the Transformers have survived the Age of Extinction and are multiplying. It was recently announced the blockbuster film franchise is expanding into a massive Marvel-esque shared universe. According to Deadline, the new franchise, including sequels and spinoffs, will be helmed by Academy Award winning writer/director/producer Akiva Goldsman (Batman & Robin, A Beautiful Mind, Insurgent). 2015 Kids Choice Awards nominee, Mark Wahlberg has already confirmed that he will return for Transformers 5 and beyond.
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg is up for a 2015 Best Movie Actor Kids Choice Award, alongside Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb), Hugh Jackman (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Jamie Foxx (Amazing Spider-Man 2, Annie), Steve Carell (Despicable Me 2) and Will Arnett (The Lego Movie, Ninja Turtles).
Recently, Mark Wahlberg toldwith MTV,that the he will return for Transformers 5 and a few more Transformers movies, stating, “Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more.”
