When her husband, Josh, first got in trouble with the MLB earlier this year for admittedly using cocaine, Katie Hamilton's future on the Real Housewives of Orange County immediately come into doubt. According to the latest gossip news updates, Hamilton has officially quit the TV show due to Bravo's insistence they be allowed to cover her husband's relapse extensively in Season 11. In a related story, daughter of former Orange County cast member, Lynne Curtin has reportedly been arrested after pulling a knife on her boyfriend. Westminster police were said to take Alexa Curtain into custody after she allegedly threatened to harm herself with a kitchen knife and threw a tiki torch at her live-in beau, Michael Devecchio.
Only having a handful of ladies on the official Real Housewives of Orange County cast, it's inevitable that Bravo producers are going to soon be adding a few new names to the lineup.
Unfortunately, the network's plan to hire Katie Hamilton hit a hiccup after her professional baseball playing hubby, Josh, got in trouble with the MLB once again for dabbling in recreational cocaine use.
A source with all the behind-the-scenes details revealed in the April 6, issue of Star Magazine, Katie desperately wanted to make things work, but Bravo's insistence that her husband struggle with substance abuse be included in the show was a deal-breaker:
"Katie is devastated...She feels like she's been living in Josh's shadow their entire marriage, and this show was meant to be her own thing.
"She really wanted her time to shine."
Lynne Curtain may have realized that the show wasn't for her years ago, but she didn't get out before the drama apparently had the chance to rub off on her daughter, Alexa.
According to a recent report by Radar Online, Alexa was arrested last year after she became violent with her longtime boyfriend when he tried to throw her out for cheating on him:
"She held the knife up to her throat and threated to slice her own throat.
"She asked him if he wanted her to kill herself since he didn't want to be with her."
Alexa's victim/boyfriend, Michael Devecchio, reportedly told the police that that sort of over-the-top behavior really wasn't anything too out of the ordinary for the 22-year-old wild child:
"Devecchio told them she 'acts that way usually.'
"In fact, he didn't want police to arrest her and said he regretted calling them."
Too bad Bravo doesn't just hire Alexa Curtain to spice up next year's reunion with a good ole fashion knife fight.
