Ben Affleck has taken DC Comics by storm after being cast as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Justice League franchise. Batfleck is even rumored to reprise his role as Batman in the upcoming Suicide Squad film alongside Jared Leto’s Joker. However, Ben Affleck has taken to a different DC for his latest fight. Affleck joined, the often rumored to be gay, South Carolina’s U.S. Senator, Lindsey Graham, to speak on behalf of the Eastern Congo Initiative. Affleck’s wife Jennifer Garner, and their 9-year-old daughter Violet were in attendance, even after years of breakup and divorce rumors.
The official Eastern Congo Initiative website offers a description of their mission:
“ECI envisions an eastern Congo vibrant with abundant opportunities for economic and social development, where a robust civil society can flourish. ECI believes that these local, community-based approaches are the key to creating a successful society in eastern Congo. We also believe that public and private partnerships, combined with advocacy that drives public policy change and increased attention, will create new opportunities for the people of eastern Congo.”
