Katy Perry and John Mayer may be seeing fireworks these days, as the pair has apparently rekindled their relationship. Robert Pattinson, Perry’s former lover, has yet to comment since his break up with fellow Twilight star, Kristen Stewart.
Katy and John have been romantically linked since June 19, 2012. Their relationship, however, has been very much on again, off again.
It appears, though, that the couple is back together again.
Perry posted a photo of them cuddling together over the July 4th holiday, via her Twitter account. John, on the other hand, publicly thanked Perry for helping him recover from vocal chord surgery.
Mr. Mayer made the announcement on stage at the kickoff of his summer tour. He also dedicated a song to the pop princess.
Mayer is known for his kind words for Perry. Earlier this year, John went on record as saying:
"For the first time in my life, I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. I really don't. I'm not in a high-profile--I know it's high-profile. It's hard to explain...For me, it feels like something that's very human."
Despite their intense feelings for one another, the pair has broken up multiple times in the past. Two months into their relationship, in August 2012, the pair called it quits for a few weeks.
In March of this year, they separated again. Mayer confirmed the split on his April appearance on Ellen, telling the comedian, "Listen, it was a very private relationship going in. It was a private relationship during, and it's a private relationship, still."
Robert Pattinson, who also dated Perry, has not commented on the pairs' recent rekindling.
