Pregnant Princess Kate Middleton Baby Due Date, Cambridge Responds to Boy or Girl Delivery Details [UPDATE]

The whole world is awaiting Kate Middleton's due date. The pregnant princess, who will soon deliver a royal boy or girl into the world, has dominated media coverage. Officials in Cambridge have officially responded to what this new birth will mean for their community.

Councillor Paul Saunders, the Mayor of Cambridge, sat down with The Daily Mail, where he issued the following statement:

"It is a great honour and I'm sure the people of Cambridge will appreciate it greatly, I think it's lovely to continue the close link with the Royal family. I think anything which helps to keep Cambridge in the public eye is a good thing as we rely on tourism.'

He wasn't the only mayor speaking out. Sheila Stewart, former councillor, also commented to the publication. She, too, shared Saunders enthusiasm:

"When we did a lot of research after it was first announced that the couple were to get the title, nothing like that was found. There were some dukes of Cambridge but not a prince or princess. It can only be good news for Cambridge. Everyone is so excited about it. The whole country is waiting for the birth."

Good news for the country (and the rest of the world)--they won't have to wait very long for the birth. Mrs. Middleton's due date is quickly approaching. Most media outlets claim that the official due date is July 11. Vegas and Britain have seized this royal opportunity to start taking bets on when the birth will actually occur.

And, that's not all they're betting on, as USA Today reports:

"As the expected due date of Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby nears, British bookies are taking bets on everything, from the baby's gender, to its hair color and weight."
