The past few weeks have been plagued with celebrity chef scandal. This week was no different. Nigella Lawson’s husband, millionaire Charles Saatchi, announced via a newspaper that he is divorcing the smoking hot chef. He blames Mrs. Lawson for her response to photos which show Charles choking Nigella.
If you haven’t seen the shocking photos for yourself, then you really should Google them. In Mr. Saatchi’s official statement to The Daily Mail, he actually criticized his soon-to-be-ex-wife’s handling of the situation:
"I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way."
Shortly after the allegedly unforgivable altercation, Mrs. Lawson removed herself and children from Charles’ home. Nigella hasn’t spoke to him since, even though the pair had been married for over a decade.
Mr. Saatchi has always denied that the photographs depicted an act of violence. He issued the following statement a day after the photos went public:
"There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt. We had made up by the time we were home. The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled."
