By now, pregnant Princess Kate Middleton should be accustomed to all of the nasty rumors, specifically those claiming that she is lazy and involved in numerous feuds with the royal family. These claims appeared to wane this week, leading up to her new baby's due date and the approaching gender reveal.
Kate Middleton, perhaps more than any other member of the royal family, has long been criticized for being lazy!
Although all members of the royal family face the allegations from time to time, Kate seems to be attacked more often (and more brutally) than other residents at Kensington Palace.
That proved especially true after Middleton became pregnant with her first child, Prince George. After battling severe morning sickness and canceling a number of appearances, critics went into overdrive.
Luckily for the duchess, however, those rumors have since begun to wane. And, as Tom Sykes tells readers over at Daily Beast, this could have something to do with Kate's increased number of public appearances:
"There could have been no clearer refutation of the 'lazy Kate' narrative -- a subplot which has bubbled along as an undercurrent in the recent years of the long running soap opera known as the British Royal Family -- than the message of the Downton photo which is that, at eight months pregnant, Kate is still putting in her public appearances, day after day."
The Downton photo referenced above stems from Duchess Kate's recent visit to the set of hit show, Downton Abbey.
Kate didn't leave empty handed, either. After meeting several major cast members, People reports that Middleton was presented with a custom-made cake:
"When Kate met Mrs. Patmore (played by actress Lesley Nicol) and Daisy (Sophie McShera), the two actresses presented the royal with a chocolate cake, complete with a crown-topped Downton emblem printed on the frosting."
What do you think about the latest reports? Are people unfair to Duchess Kate? Or, does Princess Kate not do enough to help the people of the world?
