Kerry Washington, who has gained fame recently from TV show Scandal, has officially married. The star wed San Franciso 49ers’ Nnamdi Asomugha. Reports indicate she was in her natural hair.
Washington, the 36-year-old actress, officially tied the knot on June 24. The lovely (and small) ceremony took place in Blaine Country, Idaho.
It was reportedly attended by only a handful of their friends and family. Confirmation of their marriage wasn’t made until yesterday, as The New York Daily News reported:
“Now, after a secret ceremony reportedly witnessed by only their closest friends and family, Asomugha can call Washington his wife. The marriage certificate obtained by E! was signed by the actress' parents, Earl and Valerie. Minister Chisaraukwu Asomugha of Silver Spring, Md., officiated the hushed matrimony.”
This came as a shock to many who weren’t even aware that the pair was dating. Mrs. Washington keeps her lips sealed when it comes to her romance life.
In fact, the last publically known relationship involved her and David Moscow (the kid from Tom Hanks’ Big). But, the pair split in 2007 and Mrs. Washington has managed to keep her public life shielded from the media since then.
The news first broke on TerezOwens.com, with the gossip site claiming "We just received word that actress Kerry Washington has married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha." Since then, numerous outlets have confirmed the pair’s wedding occurred.
Mrs. Washington, or should we say “Mrs. Asomugha,” isn’t the only actor in the family, either. Nnamdi has been known to land a role or two himself--with appearances on hit TV shows like Friday Night Lights.
