Princess Kate Middleton, one of our favorite royals, is pregnant with her first baby. News outlets reported that the princess is feeling nervous about her delivery and may be scared that she will be alone when giving birth on her quickly approaching due date. One thing is for certain, Princess Kate plans on being a mother that Princess Diana would be proud of.
Sometime within the next two weeks, Mrs. Middleton will be giving birth to her and Prince William's first child. With an upcoming due date so close, it has Kate slightly panicking, according to US Weekly. A source close to the couple (according to US) revealed the following about the princess:
"She's full of energy and really rather used to the bump! Naturally she is a little nervous about the big day, what new mum wouldn't be? She's still busy, making sure she's done as much as possible for the new house before the baby is born. Once the baby is here, she won't have time for anything else!"
At least she's putting that nervous energy to good use! The house isn't the only thing Kate's been thinking about. She's also spent a lot of time thinking about how she will act as a mother.
Christopher Warwick, biographer of the royals, claims that Kate will be raising her children in a similar fashion as the late Princess Diana. In a statement to the press, Mr Warwick claimed:
“William and Harry were very, very fortunate with Diana as a mother because her ideas were so different to the previous generation. The importance of this to her two sons have been enormous. William will want this for his children. Kate's childhood was pretty ordinary. She won’t want her baby to be the subject of rules and protocol before they need to be.”
There is one specific element of parenting which Middleton plans on adopting from Di--breastfeeding. Hollywood Life reports that:
"Kate plans on emulating the late princess is through breastfeeding! While royals traditionally chose not to breastfeed their children, Princess Diana was reportedly the first royal to breastfeed her first son William. If Kate does decide to breastfeed her newborn, which author Daisy Goodwin suggests she will do during an interview on 20/20: Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition, she will be following in Princess Diana’s footsteps."
This type of parenting philosophy may already be creating a divide between Kate and the Queen.
It was announced last week that the Queen of England will not be attending the birth of her first great-grandchild. The matriarch will be on her summer vacation at the Balmoral estate in Scotland and has no plans of cutting her royal vacation short.
Prince William, himself, will only be taking two weeks off from his search and rescue career to spend with his newborn. That leaves poor old Kate all alone, which probably explains why she plans on spending a significant period of time at her mother's home.
A source told NOW Magazine:
"Kate's worried he might not be around. She's feeling self-conscious because it's uncharted territory for both of them. While she's concerned he won't be there, Kate knows that William will do everything in his power not to let her down."
