Seemingly out of left field, German deep house heavyweight Henrik Schwarz has unveiled a new album comprised of classical compositions. The latest project is entitled Instruments.
An interesting turn to the DJ, the disc is the latest project to emerge from Schwarz's ongoing collaboration with the 27-musician strong Tokyo Secret Orchestra.
The music on the forthcoming LP, according to Fact, was written by Schwarz before being performed and recorded by the Japanese ensemble at Tsukiji Honganji Temple in Tokyo. It was then edited with the help of classically-trained musician Johannes Brecht.
And as Schwarz put it, the album was "four years in the making." It is also said to feature a nice combination of string, wind and percussion instruments.
Instruments will be released via Sony Classical on April 10.
A tracklist has been provided via Resident Advisor, which states that the TSO, has also performed some of Schwarz's more well-known tracks, including "Walk Music," and his remix of Coldcut and Robert Owens' "Walk A Mile In My Shoes."
