Dancing Skeletons for 'Love Has No Label,' Spreads the Message of Love and Equality Despite Diversity

Break out those tissues. A powerful video from “Love Has No Labels” portraying dancing skeletons has everyone watching drying their eyes.

This past Valentine’s Day, the Ad Council and R/GA, a New York-based ad agency, set up a large X-ray screen outside in Santa Monica, California. The screen display showed skeletons dancing, hugging, kissing and holding hands. As the people stepped out from behind the screen, the message behind it became apparent. As each diverse pair stepped out, including a lesbian couple, multi-racial couples and older couples, the people watching clapped and cried, unable to tell the difference between each person behind the screen.

The “Love Has No Labels” PSA was made to be a reminder that no matter the differences between us, we’re all human underneath. That love is love, no matter what we look like.

“Before anything else, we are all human. It’s time to embrace diversity. Let’s put aside labels in the name of love,” says “Love Has No Labels” in their mission statement.

The touching video has gone viral and currently has over 27 million YouTube views.

"We decided to take this on because we felt it was very important to encourage people, all Americans, to examine their unconscious biases," Lisa Sherman, Ad Council president and CEO, told Adweek. "As much progress as we've made as a country, we absolutely still have more work to do.”
