Beardless ‘Duck Dynasty’ Brother Alan Robertson Joins Hit A&E Show [PICS]

A new brother will be appearing on the next season of Duck Dynasty...and hold on to your duck call...’cause this guy is beardless. Alan Robertson will be joining the hit A&E show, sans facial hair.

Dynasty is A&E’s most successful show...by far. The season 3 finale drew an audience of ten million people. That is unheard of for the once struggling network.

The show follows a family of backwoods millionaires who are known for their iconoclastic, if excessive, beards. Some of them almost touch the ground.

The family made their millions by manufacturing duck calls under the Duck Commander brand. The duck hunting brand is, somehow, even more successful than the show itself.

Despite a proven success record, the executives have decided to spice things up a bit. They will be adding a new cast member--Alan Robertson.

Alan is a 47-year-old preacher from Louisiana, who is known for always wearing suits and being clean shaven. Robertson preaches full time in the boys’ hometown.

In an interview with The New York Post, Alan talked about the anonymity he is receiving and why he wanted to join the cast in the first place:

“The beards are so iconic. All this time I’ve been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee. But, I’m excited about this new opportunity. Because of my association with the show, I’ll get to minister to a lot more people.”

While the show does center around down-home values like family, friends and guns, it does risk coming off as ‘too preachy’ if they’re going to begin centering the show around a Louisiana preacher man.

Hopefully, the execs will not ruin what has thus far been a really good thing.
