Liam Neeson, the 61-year-old actor, may be getting a $20 million dollar quote for Taken 3. The actors wife would certainly be proud if she were around to see it.
Neeson surprised everyone by becoming an action star at the ripe old age of 57. Taken really redefined Neeson’s career when the film launched in 2008.
Since then, a sequel was made. Liam initially had reservations about filming a sequel to the popular flick, but eventually gave in.
That was a good decision, because the film proved to be even more successful than its predecessor. Taken cost the studio $25 million but it grossed $225 million. The sequel, however, raked in a staggering $376 million and cost the studio just $45 million to produce.
$15 million of that went to Liam, to ease any reservations he may have had about doing the follow up. Now, it appears the studio has offered him even more money.
Media outlets are reporting that the star will be making over $20 million dollars for his upcoming performance.
While the director of the film is currently unknown, rumors are circulating that it will be Olivier Megaton. This makes perfect sense considering he directed the uber-successful sequel.
Megaton has yet to comment. If he did, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t go anything like this:
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
