New Episode of NBC Child Abuse Series ‘The Slap’ with ‘American Horror Story’ & ‘Star Trek’ Zachary Quinto

Tonight NBC’s mini series The Slap is all new with a brand new episode. The show stars American Horror Story vet & Star Trek star Zachary Quinto as a man who slaps a child who was swinging a bat at other children. The show has raised many questions about how we view child abuse and if it is OK to punish someone else’s child.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of The Slap, title “Anouk,” reads:

“Anouk makes a game-changing discovery while trying to balance her life. Meanwhile, the slapping incident causes cracks to develop in Anouk's friendship with Rosie.”

The show centers on Zachary Quinto's character Harry, slapping a young boy (5-years-old) in the face for swinging a bat other children. The incident lead to the breakdown of severl relationships. However, that was just the straw that broke the camels back as Quinto recently told The Washington Post:

“The interesting thing is it’s not really about the slap, and all of these characters come to the table with a tremendous amount of internal conflict and struggle about different aspects of their lives and relationships. The Slap is just this codifying incident that puts all of that into clear relief, and so I think all of us were more interested in the psychological dynamics that are going on outside of the incident of the actual slap.”

Be sure to check out the all new episode of The Slap, tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern on NBC.
