Tonight, Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Retta and the rest of the cast from NBC’s Parks and Rec say goodbye to the characters in the finale episode of the hit series. Unfortunately the cast and crew also had to say farewell to writer and producer Harris Wittels. Wittels tragically died last week from an apparent drug overdose.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new and finale episode of Parks and Rec titled, “One Last Ride,” reads:
“The Parks gang complete one last task together before saying so long to Pawnee when the series comes to an end after seven seasons.”
The cast and crew from the show are still reeling from the loss of executive producer and writer Harris Wittels. Wittels passed away last week from an apparent drug overdose.
During her speech as last Thursday’s, Amy Poehler spoke about her fallen friend, Harris Wittels, telling the audience (via USA Today):
"Today, I lost a friend. I lost a dear, young man in my life who was struggling with addiction and who died -- just a few hours before I came.
"I'm sharing it with you because life and death live so close together, and we walk that fine line everyday. When things happen in our lives, we turn to the people that we love and we look to our community and our family for support, and we lean on people, in a hope that we will ease our pain."
Be sure to check out the all new episode of Parks and Rec, tonight at a special time, 10:00 p.m. eastern on NBC.
