Last week marked the exciting debut of "Wicked" as it had its global premiere at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia.
As the days pass, leading up to the grand debut, the focus shifts to the promotional efforts involving interviews, public appearances, and engaging social media content.
During the promotional frenzy, the leading actors, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, took a moment to express their heartfelt apologies for the emotional outpouring as they shared anecdotes about their bond and the movie.
In a heartfelt moment captured by E! News, the 31-year-old "Thank U Next" singer shared, "We've cried 500 times today. And honestly, this is a PSA. So sorry guys," as she engaged in a candid conversation with Erivo.
"It is what it is There's just nothing we can do about it," Erivo said.
Grande added, "I can't imagine, and you know what? If you're going to comment saying how annoying it is, I'll say it first,"
"I said it first. I'm annoyed. I'm tired. My tear ducts... I'm tired, emotionally tired."
The British singer went on, "We've come through a massive, massive thing and we've really stuck together."
"Yeah, the stuff you don't see is the most special, Ariana added while the two ladies sounded like old friends or a married couple."
Apologies were again extended as Erivo and Grande, taking on the roles of Elphaba Thropp/Wicked Witch Of The West, and Glinda, The Good Witch Of The North, made their presence known in Los Angeles over the weekend.
"We're sorry. It just happens. It happens. We can't help it. We're trying our best, but there's a lot of emotional things that happen and we're just going with it," according to Erivo.
"Yeah, you need to understand. It's been like three years, people!' Ariana pleads. 'Why does emotional availability scare you so?"
"Wicked" is set to debut in theaters across the United States on November 22.
