There will be a public memorial ceremony for Broadway actor Gavin Creel at the St. James Theatre on Monday, December 2 at 4 PM ET.
The Broadway League will dim the lights on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:45 PM ET in honor of Creel, per Broadway News.
They had originally planned a partial dimming, but they changed their initial decision to a complete dimming ceremony after receiving backlash from the community and an online petition with over 20,000 signatures.
Fans may send an email to GavinCelebration@BespokeTheatricals.com with your name and contact details if you would like to attend the memorial on December 2.
Donations in honor of Creel can be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids in place of flowers.
Tony Award winner Creel, a well-liked member in the theatrical community, died on September 30 at home. The 48-year-old lost a hard fight with cancer.
When the League first announced that just a few locations would dim their lights in the actor's honor, the emotional reaction from coworkers and fans showed how much Creel was adored.
