The Allman Brothers Band will release a live album featuring their farewell concert later this month.
The historic concert marked the end of an era for the influential rock group back in October 28, 2014 which took place at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
In the performance, the stage was graced by original members Gregg Allman, Jaimoe, and Butch Trucks, joined by Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Marc Quinones, and Oteil Burbridge. Together, they performed a 29-song setlist that comprised their entire musical journey.
To mark the milestone of the series' 10th year, a live album capturing a special performance is set to be released, according to NME.
Titled "10-28-14 Farewell Concert," the digital release is scheduled for October 25, with a CD box set following on November 22.
The upcoming album will feature enhanced sound quality from the concert and a detailed 16-page booklet filled with never-before-seen pictures and insightful commentary from its members.
In a statement by Quinones, "Having joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1991, I had no idea what I was getting myself into as a percussionist joining two drummers on stage."
"Fast forward 23 years to the last show we played as the Allman Brothers Band. I feel honored to have been part of such a historical musical force that was and is the ABB. Love live the ABB!"
Since the concert, several individuals who were part of the Allman Brothers Band have passed away. One of the original musicians, Lenny Rhodes, the band's lead vocalist, died earlier. Additionally, co-founder, Jamie Rivers, passed away in 2018.
Allman created the band with his brother Duane in 1969 and introduced their first album to the world. They immediately gained recognition and became known for chart-toppers like "Ramblin Man," and "Jessica,"
ABB is also known for their jam band performances and fusion of country and blues elements within their classic rock sound. They group achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim through albums like the live 1971 release "At Fillmore East" and the 1972 album "Eat a Peach," which paid tribute to Duane, tragically lost in a motorcycle accident.
In the years leading up to 2014, ABB performed intermittently, eventually earning a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
