English magician Jamie Allan is set to carve his name in history this month by becoming just the third magician and illusionist from the UK to secure an extended solo West End season in the past four decades.
Paul Daniels first mesmerized audiences with his show "It's Magic" at the Prince of Wales Theatre from December 10, 1980 to February 6, 1982, marking one of the longest magic performances ever witnessed in London. Meanwhile, Derren Brown staged 8 West End seasons since 2003.
"Amaze" will takes center stage at the Criterion Theatre for 47 performances, starting on October 18 and concluding on Saturday, November 23.
He said, via Broadway World, "My biggest ambition was to play in the West End and Broadway. We're halfway there with this West End season, and it's truly a dream come true. My next step is Broadway, and beyond that, who knows? I just want to keep pushing the boundaries of what magic can be."
Combining cutting-edge technology alongside classic magic methods, "Amaze" is a narrative-focused magic performance that immerses the audience in wonder, inviting them to experience the magic firsthand.
"'Amaze' is a deeply emotional show for me to deliver, and is so very personal. It is incredibly rewarding to see the magic and my true story connect so deeply with people. 'Amaze' is a show about a child who dreams of being a magician, and a huge part of that dream for me was to appear in my own West End show."
"In many ways, part of my story will be lived out on stage every night. An earlier version of the show opened at Marylebone Theatre this summer but we're expanding the show to be even more spectacular, and - most of all - more amazing."
Allan concluded, "I can't wait to bring this turbo-charged new version of Amaze to the beautiful Criterion Theatre. I'm so excited to share this next chapter of Amaze with audiences in the West End."
Initially going on a three-year tour across the UK, Allan wowed audiences with his award-winning show "iMagician," which first charmed viewers at the Garrick Theatre in 2015.
In 2021, he collaborated on developing two highly successful productions that garnered critical praise, "Illusionarium" in Toronto and "Magic Immersive" in Chicago. The publication of his literary work, "Everything," in 2023 was met with resounding approval from the magic community.
Allan's "Amaze" debuted to overwhelming audience turnout and unprecedented accolades.
