Warning Major Walking Dead TV and comics Spoilers: There is no doubt about it, The Walking Dead TV show is definitely teasing Glenn’s death. Glenn’s recent acquisition of a baseball bat, is definitely a nod to his death in the comics. Now creator Robert Kirkman has come out and said that Glenn will die soon. However, it did it as part of a comedy segment on Chris Hardwick’s @ Midnight series.
Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman was recently a guest on Chris Hardwick’s Comedy Central series @Midnight, where he was asked to reveal a fake spoiler (via Huffington Post):
"Eventually, a character named Negan is introduced,” said Kirkman, “And he's going to bash in Glenn's brains with a baseball bat called Lucille."
Kirkman’s “fake spoiler” is actually exactly what happened to Glenn in the comics in issue number 100.
Back in 2013, Robert Kirkman spoke to the Associated Press about the death:
"It was really strange for me writing that, knowing that Steven was going to read it. There was a concern like I didn't want Steven to read it and think I was mad at him."
Glenn actor Steven Yeun also commented about the death, and not knowing his fate:
"No, there's never reassurances on the show. Obviously, I would like to keep it going as long as possible, but it would be fun to go out that way too...At first when I read it I was like, 'Wow.' I thought it was brave. I thought it was terrifying. I actually loved it. I mean what a way to take a beloved character away from the readers, just snatch it away."
