At 57-years-old it has been more than a decade since Melanie Griffith starred in a major Hollywood blockbuster, but word has it that now Antonia Banderas soon-to-be ex-wife has a plan to get back in the spotlight. According to the latest gossip news updates, Melanie is now best friends with Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality TV mom, Kris Jenner, and the brand new besties are set to get their own spin-off series together -- all about their impending divorces.
Since splitting up with their respective husbands, Antonia Banderas and Bruce Jenner, Melanie Griffith and Kris Jenner have become fast friends.
Just last Friday, the Daily Mail reports, that the two middle-aged Hollywood moms took a girls night out to go to the Gwen Stefani concert in L.A.
In addition to becoming such fast friends, a source close to the duo insists in the latest February 16, issue of Star Magazine, that Mel could be looking for her new friendship to lead to a resurgence in popularity:
"I think the friendship is built on mutual goals, plain and simple.
"Melanie hasn't had a decent movie role in years, and it must be hard for her to face a stagnant career.
"I have a feeling that she thinks she can get back into the public eye by hanging with Kris -- and I wouldn't be surprised at all if she was looking to make the leap into reality TV to jump start her career again...They could even do a show together."
The secret behind-the-scenes source goes on to insist that Kris too is looking to use the friendship as a career tool.
According to the spy, now that Kris' family is moving on and out growing her, Jenner is looking for anything or anyone that can make her seems relevant:
"What better way for Kris to keep a high profile -- at least in her own mind -- that to start a project with someone like Melanie, who used to be Hollywood royalty...she thinks that Melanie will actually lend her some respectability."
The new season FX' Horror Story seems a better fit for Melanie and Kris than new reality show.
