Years before Mariah Carey ever got married to Nick Cannon the "Heroes" singer was known for her over-the-top diva antics, but Mimi's talent was always enough to shout down any would-be haters. Unfortunately for the Instagram lingerie model, now that her ability to sing has publicly been called into question following a recent lip-sync scandal and embarrassing Rockefeller, even some of Mariah's fellow R&B legends are coming out of the woodwork to take potshots. According to the latest news updates, Boy II Men band member Nathan Morris is claiming that Carey has no one to blame for her new found reputation but herself. There is even a rumor that Mariah's America's Got Talent husband, Nick Cannon, is so over his wife's music that he is boycotting all her tracks now that they are finally getting a divorce.
When Mariah Carey recently got caught lip-syncing during a live performance many of her old fans cringed at what appeared to by the "Butterfly" diva's utimiate fall from grace, but Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men seemed more than happy to say I told you so.
In a recent Facebook post Maraih's fellow 90s R&B star let Carey know that she could have seen this whole thing coming if only she'd cared enough to pay attention:
"We all have (as artist) had bad performances in our careers that's normal, no one is perfect. And some may have even stuck in a backing vocal or two on those bad vocal days.
"But when performances like this happen on a consistent basis they are no longer considered mistakes or accidents, they are now habits.
"We as artist at some point must take the blame when we put ourselves in uncompromising positions such as this."
It is also being reported that even Nick Cannon is making his distaste of his almost-ex-wife's music known, now that things are officially over.
An eyewitness at Chris Paul's L.A. charity bowling tournament at AMF Bowl-o-Drome on January 8, told Us Weekly that Nick "flipped out" when the house DJ starting playing one of Mariah's songs as some sort of homage/joke:
"Nick looked irritated -- he was cringing.
"Nick had a publicist go over to the DJ and demand he stop playing Mariah's tracks."
Let's hope that Mariah's up-and-coming run of shows in Las Vegas will be known as a new turning point in Carey's career and not just one more in a long line of embarrassments
