A smearing "back-turning" campaign led by New York's boys in blue from December to late January attacked Mayor Bill de Blasio and his cabinet. Now, in a video parodying Sia's "Elastic Heart," the Upright Citizens Brigade takes a stab at the beef between the mayor and the back-turning NYPD.
Perhaps the status of the police in the nation is still in question, and perhaps the notion of deadly force and what it means to be a civilian still has you wondering. But this video is definitely worth the three minutes of your time it demands.
Stop-and-frisk, the Eric Garner case, the list piles up and, as the video notes, too, de Blasio is a "doofus Frankenstein."
"Taser Heart," the -- hopeful -- follow-up to "Elastic Heart" may not feature a starlet dance child like Maddie Ziegler or a rough-looking Shia Lebouf, but the choreography is just as good.
And as UCB notes, every Monday the UCB Comedy YouTube channel posts a new video by Pocketwatch that "mixes pop culture and politics into two to three minutes of thought-provoking comedy."
This week, thus, we were offered up the well-done parody to "Elastic Heart" that dramatizes the beef between De Blasio and the NYPD through an exhilarating modern dance number.
So until next week, here is "Taser Heart" below:
